WHEN WE WILL INVEST

In general, RainMade values non-mainstream ideas where we can participate in cornered markets.

We like energy, water, food, wellness, education and technology. We are interested in companies and projects that meet all of the following criteria –

  1. Directly make the world better (i.e. for benefit)
  2. Scalable – globally
  3. Proprietary intellectual property

For Cleantech – Additionally, we want cost-disruptive next-generation clean technologies, those with long-term alignment with broad decarbonization targets. We have strong bias for ‘atoms, instead of bytes.’

Exceptions (Bolt-on Acquisitions) – We do make some exceptions; mainly when one or more of our portfolio companies will benefit from a value-driven purchase.

If you are opening a local organic sandwich shop, that’s great, but it’s not in our wheelhouse. Finally, we are not interested in solar opportunity using traditional semiconductor technology.
